New single – Snow

Where the first single introduced the band’s expanded sonic collaboration with Vindla String Quartet in a more dynamic and forward-moving setting, Snow turns inward. The track unfolds as a fragile, atmospheric and deeply emotive ballad, rooted in acoustic textures and subtle string arrangements. Here, space and restraint become central elements, allowing the song’s emotional core to emerge gradually.

Written by bassist and composer Anne Marte Eggen, Snow reflects on the experience of being a small part of a vast world, and the quiet awareness of time passing. Beneath its delicate surface lies a meditation on presence — on what it means to be here, and to briefly inhabit the moment we are given.

New Single – Leaving

After four years of silence, the Malmö-based band We Float returns with new music. On May 8, the single Leaving will be released—a collaboration with Vindla String Quartet—and the first taste of the upcoming album Outward, set for release October 16th via Havtorn Records.

The music and lyrics were written by bassist Anne Marte Eggen, and this time the creative process has been somewhat different.

“I really wanted to make the most of the collaboration and let the strings take up a lot of space in the music. In the past, I’ve often added string or wind instruments afterwards as a kind of embellishment, but this time I wanted to build the songs around the strings and their potential,” Eggen explains. “The goal has been for us to sound like a unified whole—we’ve experimented with different instrumentations together in the rehearsal space and found a shared sound.”
